Dementia Training
This Dementia Training course is designed for healthcare professionals including frontline staff, training managers and care home managers to learn more about the condition of dementia and feel more confident about caring for someone who has this condition. It will ensure you are able to provide the best support and care with dignity and respect to dementia sufferers and their families.
There are over 850,000 people living with Dementia in the UK. This course will give the carer knowledge of what dementia is and the different types of dementia. It covers early recognition and signs and symptoms to look out for. It is suitable for learners of all levels, including those who work in care home settings, medical settings or simply relatives who are looking after a family member with the condition at home.
People living with dementia suffer a severe decline in mental ability such as short term memory and concentration, communication language and impaired critical and thinking skills and therefore, they need high levels of care to help them cope with their everyday lives.
It is run over 3 hours at your venue with dates and times to suit by a qualified healthcare professional instructor in this field. Certification is awarded on completion.
Although this course is aimed at the Health and Social Care sector, courses for the family can be delivered in the home.
