Fire Safety – Fire Warden / Marshal
This Fire Safety course is designed to provide an insight into fire regulations and precautions and enable attendees to carry out the duties of a Fire Warden or Fire Marshal. This course also provides practical sessions on how to use a fire extinguisher. This course is delivered by qualified Fire Fighters.
Every year, people die or are seriously injured as a result of fire in the workplace.
It is imperative for the workplace that the employer, owner or occupier ensures that their premises meet fire safety regulations, while ensuring all employees and visitors know what to do in the event of fire.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) requires the ‘responsible person to take reasonable measures to reduce the risk from fire and ensure safe exits and escape for both employees and visitors. The FSO requires the responsible person to:
- Ensure all employees receive adequate safety training
- Appoint one or more ‘competent persons’ to assist with fire safety in the workplace, and provide them with adequate training in order to reduce the risks from fire hazards.
- Ensure that the necessary assessments of fire risks in the workplace are taken to which relevant persons may be exposed, for the purpose of identifying general fire precautions.

Frequency: Recommended Annually
Cost: Maximum 16 Candidates (Group Booking): £480.00 + £15 per person (for use of Fire Extinguisher)
Note: The actual practice of setting off a fire extinguisher is not mandatory but does enhance the training and is recommended.
