Level 2 Counselling Skills
Our Level 2 Counselling Skills will teach you a wide range of skills that you will use to make a real impact to others’ lives. Some people find it helpful to seek the support of a counsellor at some point in their lives. People in any situation could benefit from counselling. Those with the correct understanding, knowledge and skills can provide them with support to improve personal well-being. Whether you will deal with teenagers and substance abuse, mental health issues or adults at a vulnerable stage of their lives, you will have the knowledge and resources to make a real difference.
As a learner, you will identify core skills which include having a positive regard for the person being counselled; respecting them, showing empathy and sincerity. Other key skills include active listening, controlling your body language, and asking advanced open-ended questions.
PLEASE NOTE – There is a requirement for a witness testimony for Unit 1 in this course. Learners will not be able to progress without this. It is a requirement for a lead submitted with one or more learner who would like to complete this course, to be accompanied by a declaration.
