Level 2 Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent
Official data showed that over 7,500 people were referred to the Prevent programme in 2015/16. The purpose of Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent qualification is to support anyone who is responsible for the safeguarding of people and for helping prevent radicalisation. It gives learners an understanding of recognising the signs of abuse, how to reduce the risk of radicalisation and the potential consequences of illegal online activity. Those who work with children, young people or vulnerable adults, have a legal duty in respect of Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent. This important qualification aims to provide candidates with the practical knowledge they need to be able to comply with this duty.

ELIGIBILITY
- Age 19+
- Applicants aged between 19 – 23 must hold a prior level 2 or above qualification in any subject except the subject they wish to apply for.
- Applicants over 23 do not need any entry qualifications
- Lives in England
- British Citizen or have been living within the EU for 3 years for purposes other than study
- Able to supply ID at induction
- Provide residency evidence if not a British citizen
