Level 2 Mental Health Awareness Training
Mental Health Awareness is designed to raise awareness of the Mental Health Act of 1983 and the amendments made in 2007. This course aims to raise awareness of mental health, and to understand and recognise the causes, symptoms and support options for a range of common and less-common mental health problems. Mental Health Awareness training is one of the key ways of changing the experience of people affected by poor mental health in the UK.
Mental health presents one of the greatest challenges to our society. With an estimated 450 million people worldwide suffering from a mental health problem, around a quarter of British adults will experience some form of mental health problem within the course of a year. While many elements of mental health are still not understood, having a good knowledge of the information that is available is essential in the care sector.
