Family First Aid Course – Learn essential first aid to help a family member, friend or anyone else who is injured or ill.
This comprehensive course has been created to give you the knowledge to help a baby, child or adult with both minor and major first aid incidents as well as giving advice on how to manage a range of common illnesses and conditions.
It is human nature to think “it’ll never happen to me / us” until it does but having the skills and knowledge just may save a loved one in the event of an emergency one day and therefore it is essential knowledge that every individual should have.
Course Content:
- Assessing an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take
- Understanding the importance of PPE and Infection Control
- Helping a baby, child or adult who is:
- unresponsive and breathing normally
- unresponsive and not breathing normally
- having a seizure or febrile convulsion
- choking
- suffering a heart attack, angina attack or stroke
- bleeding
- suffering from shock
- suffering from anaphylactic shock
- has burns or scalds
- has a suspected fracture
- has a head injury
- has a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose
- has an eye injury
- has a bite or sting
- is suffering from poisoning
- has a suspected asthma attack, allergic reaction, meningitis, sepsis, fever
- Appropriate contents of a first aid box
