Level 2 End of Life Care
The problems faced and support needed by people requiring End of Life Care is wide-ranging and a good understanding of pain management, support and quality of life is essential for all carers. In 2040, the number of people aged over 64 in Britain is expected to grow from 9.5 million to 15 million. The population is ageing, meaning more people will live with serious chronic illness and need end of life care.
COURSE CONTENT
- Develop knowledge and understanding of palliative care
- Covers topics including the support needed to manage pain and discomfort
- Understand how dementia impacts on end palliative care
- Learn the role of the care worker at time of death
- Learn the loss and grief process
ELIGIBILITY
- Age 19+
- Applicants aged between 19 – 23 must hold a prior level 2 or above qualification in any subject except the subject they wish to apply for.
- Applicants over 23 do not need any entry qualifications
- Lives in England
- British Citizen or have been living within the EU for 3 years for purposes other than study
- Able to supply ID at induction
- Provide residency evidence if not a British citizen
