Level 2 Common Health Conditions
Every hour, someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s disease; there are approximately 152,000 strokes in the UK every year (more than one every five minutes); and one in six of the UK population have some form of hearing loss. These common health conditions, along with others such as arthritis and dementia, affect a substantial proportion of the population. A good understanding of common health conditions is essential in any care environment that can help to improve the quality of life of someone living with one or a number of these conditions. This qualification is designed for learners looking to start work in, or already working in health and social care settings including care homes, hospitals and domiciliary care and would like an understanding of common health conditions and their effects on individuals.

ELIGIBILITY
- Age 19+
- Applicants aged between 19 – 23 must hold a prior level 2 or above qualification in any subject except the subject they wish to apply for.
- Applicants over 23 do not need any entry qualifications
- Lives in England
- British Citizen or have been living within the EU for 3 years for purposes other than study
- Able to supply ID at induction
- Provide residency evidence if not a British citizen
