Fire Safety Training for Early Years
Fire Safety Training for Early Years is an interactive and comprehensive online course providing an awareness of fire safety in early years settings and is suitable for all staff working in pre schools, nurseries and childminding. This course has been developed in line with national fire safety legislation and Ofsted guidelines for early years settings and is mapped to Level 2 on the RQF.
Fire safety is paramount in early years settings. Providers must implement comprehensive measure including risk assessment, evacuation plans and furthermore, staff training to ensure the safety of children and staff. Regular practice drills, coupled with age-appropriate fire safety education are also crucial.
Settings must have fire extinguishers and fire blankets in appropriate accessible locations in relation to their risk assessments and all staff must receive adequate training on fire safety, including evacuation procedures, use of fire equipment, and how to handle emergency situations. All smoke alarms must be functional and properly maintained, providing early warning of a fire.
