First Aid Awareness for Water Based Settings
First Aid Awareness for Water Based Settings is ideal for anyone who wants to learn basic first aid for swimming and water sport activities, sea or river environments. Please note this course is not suitable for Lifeguards or designated First Aiders in the workplace.
First aid in water-based settings requires specific knowledge and skills to address unique challenges like drowning, hypothermia, and injuries in or around the water. Key areas include recognizing distress signals, knowing how to safely rescue someone from the water, performing CPR and rescue breaths, managing hypothermia, and understanding the importance of water safety practices.
Standard first aid doesn’t always cover the specifics of water-related emergencies in aquatic settings and by being prepared and knowledgeable, individuals can significantly improve the outcome of water-related emergencies and contribute to a safer environment for everyone.
